Summer Zoom Painting- Swimming sea turtle

Hello everyone!
hello everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying your travels or are safely home!

Small skill start-

Today I talked about wet on wet shading. We’ve been doing a lot of work with wet on wet, but it’s mostly for effects. This project involves working with wet paint and adding extra color to the wet paint to create smooth-ish shading effects.

Painting together-

Today’s project was a swimming sea turtle. Here are ours. Jeremiah’s is a kappa with his water in his shell instead of on his head.

Our verse for this project is Psalm 104:25 There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number- living things both large and small.

At home practice-
This week if you practice at home, I want you to try making smooth washes. As you can tell by my examples, this is actually much more difficult than first glance. Try more water, less water, larger brushes, smaller brushes. Just do your best to get a full space of a solid color. Good luck!

Honestly embarrassing. Maybe don’t look this far down.

That’s it for this week! If you were there, I was glad to see you. If you missed, I hope to see you again. Eventually.
